Anyone have the Wii fit and like it? Do you find it works easily and well? Notice any differences?

I like the idea of the balance board a lot. As with Wii Sports, Wii Fit got old rather quickly. Im not big into yoga and the other minigames are fun (jogging being my favorite) but just the idea of the balance board and using the wiimote for future games is a great idea. I have always thought nintendo has had the greatest peripherals since the original 8-bit games and the balance board just adds right onto ideas like the supershot and powerglove. I hope that future adventure or other sports games will include the balance board. I say its definitely worth the $90 price tag.

I hate it! Only real games are fun. Games where you don’t move at all! Just your fingers!

If I wanted exercise, I would be out playing sports, I wouldn’t be playing Wii Fit. My idea of gaming is vegging out on the couch and moving nothing but your fingers. Unless you are playing an intense game of Wii Sports.

I like it quite a bit. Some of the nay-sayers on here are correct: it isn’t as much fun as a true “game.” I don’t mind; I never expected exercise in my living room to be as much fun as Mario Kart!
I do find that it works easily and well. The instructions are clear and the balance board reads movement smoothly and accurately. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist or a pro athlete to use it.
Just the opposite, in fact. My boyfriend is a soccer player and has no use for it! After 15 hours/week in a gym, running, or on the field, it would be a waste of his time.
And then there’s me. I’ve never been an athlete aside from a brief stint in club hockey. I love to in-line skate and prefered walking or biking 3 miles to work or school whenever possible, but this is a cold, nasty climate and time constraints and courteous hygiene don’t always allow an active commute. When I worked 70 hours/week, I thought long and hard about (1) how often I could get to even the 24 hour gym after a 12 hour work day. What about in snowy conditions? (2) how often I’d use an elliptical and how quickly it would bore me and (3) how effective active video games might be and how often I’d play them.
I decided on the Wii, and I haven’t been disappointed. DDR is a separate game from Wii Fit, but the cardio is awesome and I can play for hours. Wii Fit helped me build muscle mass after a major injury that left me unable to walk for a while, and the yoga helped me recover some of my flexibility as well. The lunges, jackknife, and plank exercises kick my butt in a very positive way, and my friends and boyfriend comment frequently that I look better than ever and have clearly been exercising like a fiend.
I still don’t look like a pro athlete and using Wii Fit and just skating a couple times a week in brief season, I’m sure I never will, but it’s been a very positive light fitness tool for someone like me, who refuses to wake up two hours early to travel to a gym, run in a hamster wheel, shower, and slog off to work. I haven’t lost a pound and don’t intend to: I just keep building muscle and, since I haven’t gained weight either, I assume I’ve lost some fat as well. I’m okay with that.
